How to Know the Top machine (TDC = Top Dead Center)

TDC (Top Dead Center) is one standard way to perform machine setup, dismantling / overhoul, tune up or replacing the timing belt. By knowing the dead spots on the piston in the hope that it will be easy in the process of re-assembling the engine.

Course to learn automotive engine must know the TDC with a variety of simple and standard way, although we can actually know the top piston with a variety of methods, but the appropriate manufacturer's instructions already given a mark on the pulley or flywheel (depending on engine type).

Some ways to know the position of the engine TDC, among others:

1. Seeing a sign on Pulley / Wheel nuts (Flywell). For machines generally have included a sign that is usually top dead center mark on the pulley should be straight with the numbers zero (0) in the body of the machine, or who are at the flywheel tails NOL / T should be straight with the marks on the body.

2. Seeing the peak position as / Noken (cam shaft). Nok as the TDC position on the cylinder arm Roker free conditions / sprawl is not pressing the valve stem.

3. Looking at the direction of the distributor rotor. for setting the correct timing can also be viewed from the direction of the distributor rotor, spark plug wires when leading to no 1 means the top cylinder 1.

4. Viewing Position Piston through the spark plug hole. usually for a still doubt also be able to convince the top of the spark plug hole, if the step No. 1,2 and 3 is accomplished.
