Prepare Your Car For A Long Road Trip

Hope you know where you are going...

Road journeys, for most people, are plenty of fun. Whether you are going to a music festival, travelling to see relatives or going for the sake of it, the fun of the open road, a loud stereo & some friends can be irresistible.

What some people fail to do though, is prepare their vehicle properly for the trip. This may finish up in you getting lost, breaking down or falling out. Here are some key tips to make positive you are fully prepared for your journey.

Navigation

Before you leave the house you need to be positive you know where you are going. When you are going to be travelling for 100s of miles you don't need to suddenly find out that you have been going the wrong way for the last two hours. In the event you cannot get hold of a sat nav, take a long look at a map & write down some correct directions or take the map & somebody that can read it with you.

Emergencies

Mechanics

While you may be an excellent driver, there is no certainty when driving that you will be safe. Tell people where & when you are going, make positive you are sober & receive a first aid kit for the automobile. Also, if somebody has a medical condition like diabetes, be positive they have their medication with them before you go.

This is an important thing to deal with before you leave. Assuming you have your MOT, your automobile ought to be safe from falling to bits, but it is best to check a few things. Check your oil is topped up, that you have water in your windscreen washers, that your tyres are pumped up & that your brakes work properly. If there is anything comic going on along with your automobile at all, even any performance automobile parts you might have installed, it is best to get them checked by a garage, as on the open road you may find yourself miles from anywhere when your automobile suddenly conks out.

Entertainment

final thing you need to make positive is right along with your automobile before you leave on a long trip, is your entertainment technique. Your stereo needs to be working as several hours of silence can drive you bananas. Also, in the event you have a DVD player & screens which you are relying on to keep your babies amused, make positive that they work & that you have DVDs for the whole trip.

Keeping Your Alloy Wheels Clean

The summer time is 'officially' here, & whilst the weather may still have a hint of spring freshness about it, the days are getting longer, the sun is showing itself more, & the truly summer months of May, June, July & August are around the corner.

Britain seems to have a custom of preparing for a great summer, which falls flat after one weeks, but whilst the weather may well finish up dampened, the spirit does not. Holidaymakers are preparing for a week away, the stay at home sunbathers are getting out their deck chairs, & the motoring fanatics are gearing up for a summer of automobile shows & cruises, but how can they be sure they keep the automobile looking lovely?

Alloy wheel protection is therefore vital for someone who wishes to keep their automobile looking shiny & turning heads both in the busy summer, & the poor winter weather. The fact of the matter is however that lots of alloy wheel protection substances can promise fabulous shine & protection, but fail to deliver where it matters, when looking for alloy wheel wax, be sure that it's a lovely specification, including the following.

Driving over dusty dirt tracks & grass at automobile shows, or hitting the motorway for a break - rain or shine - can leave your alloy wheels looking a small worse for wear. Dirt, dust & break dust will coat your wheels, not only leaving them dirty, but also greatly improving the chance of scratches & marks being caused, & no wishes that on a £350.00 set of alloy wheels.

* Basically Applicable - Some wax can be hard to apply to your wheels, taking up valuable time.
* Cleans & Shines - The main thing everyone wishes from a wax - to keep their wheels looking shiny
* Accelerates Water Run Off - If the water all dries on your wheel, the water marks left will put you back to square.
* Repels Break Dust - It is all well & lovely if the wax cleans, but you need it to stay tidy, & not be out waxing every few days.
* Can Be Used in Direct Sunlight - Sunny weather is the prime time for people cleaning cars, so a wax that can be used in sunlight is advisable
* Provides UV Protections - You need some UV protection, or extended exposure to the summer sun could case wear & fading of your alloy wheels appearance
* Prevents Water Marks & Swirls - As said above, water marks can leave your wheels looking as dirty as before, so a wax that prevents them is vital.

Why Engines Work Better On HHO Gas

With the cost of gas & diesel constantly on the rise, lots of people are looking towards water powered engines to save themselves funds. An added incentive to convert to water power is the fact that, as well as being more economical, water powered engines work a lot better than their gasoline-only counterparts.

A water powered engine will continue to make use of some gasoline, but the gasoline will be supplemented by HHO, a two-part hydrogen to one-part oxygen gas that is produced by electrolysis. Recent advances in systems that generate HHO on demand have made this of the best ways to decrease regular fuel consumption.

When HHO is introduced in to the combustion method it increases fuel combustion by up to 80%, meaning that 100% of by products (e.g. carbon monoxide & carbon dioxide) are expelled through the exhaust method than clogging up the engine. HHO actually cleans out the gasoline-produced build-up of carbon in the engine, thereby helping the engine to run more smoothly & significantly reducing carbon emissions.

HHO is times more effective & powerful than regular gas, & can actually make your automobile run better. A automobile converted to run on HHO can give you up to 60% better mileage - & the much smaller amount of gas that is used will burn more effectively. You may not realise it but regular fuel combustion is very inefficient, with only about 20-30% of available gasoline actually being combusted.

Another thing you will notice with a water powered engine is that it runs more quietly, with less vibration & small if any 'pinging' or knocking. This is much better for the engine overall & the transmission, which will permit for much smoother gear shifts when it is not under strain.

After it's been burned inside the engine HHO gas actually converts to water vapor, meaning that a water powered engine will run at a lower temperature & be less liable to overheating. This ends in your engine lasting longer, the parts that tend to burn out at high heat, such as bearings, valves & pistons.

You won't need to make any serious modifications to your automobile to take advantage of this water fuel cell expertise. In fact, all it requires is to put in a simple conversion kit that will connect up along with your existing engine to convert water in to HHO gas.

To change your car's engine over to water fuel, you will first need to receive the blueprints for making & installing a kit. These blueprints may cost between $50 & $100, but in the finish will save you thousands of dollars in automobile repairs, automobile parts & gasoline.

In the finish you, your automobile & the environment will all be benefited when you convert to a water powered engine.

A small quart-sized container will be placed near the engine & filled with some baking soda & distilled water. The electricity will be provided by the automobile battery, & will combine with water in a hydrogen fuel cell to produce the HHO gas that will power your automobile. Obviously the method is slightly more complicated than it sounds here, which is why the blueprints can cost you up to $100. However, the general modification method can be done by any mechanic, or you can basically do it yourself in case you so desire.

What Do Performance Car Parts Do For Your Vehicle?

It is as if your car is in the amateur theater ...

Do you think your car could be better? Most likely, your car could actually be better if you own a Bugatti Veyron or something high end. Many people find that when they ask something of your car beyond its normal hours of daily use, which fails to deliver.

So what things can add to your car to make it better?

Safer

If greater security you want to achieve for your car, there are many performance parts that can help here. Get home series brake equipped not only give you better control when driving at high speed, will also be general of your vehicle safer. Disc brakes are probably the best thing to get installed by covering a larger area so that when you put your foot on the brake, there is more friction on the wheels which in turn lets you slow the car faster.

Faster

One of the main things people want from their cars is better performance. That means they want to go faster, accelerates faster and generally more responsive on the straights, corners and when to stop. To achieve this, there are many modifications that can be installed in your vehicle to do so. For example: To give your car more power, without being a completely new engine, you can install a turbo that uses compressed gas to shoot fuel into the engine at high speed. This creates more energy and allows the car to accelerate faster. A turbo is one of the best pieces of performance car to significantly improve performance.

Air is another key factor to increase performance. By installing larger air filters to allow more air into the engine faster, and the installation of a great escape for the air to make the engine faster also improve your total power.

Refrigerator

To improve the performance of the look of your car, there are many new parts that can be embedded. This could include alloy wheels, which always look better in a regular car wheels or if you want to go really extreme you might consider placing a full body kit. This is a shell that replaces the existing body work. Not only does it often seem very interesting, can also improve its aerodynamics, which will help your car cut through the air faster and increase your acceleration and top speed.

How To Flush Your Engine

If you are thinking of switching to synthetic oil are some tips to get started.

1.) Wash the engine with an engine as high card. Start by removing the old oil filter and installing a low-cost filter, while washing the engine. It makes no sense to buy a filter to this work face 20-minute flush. Check the oil level and make sure you have a crankcase full, do not worry about the excess liquid engine washing, diluted down and besides that just being there for 30 minutes. Then add the download to your engine crankcase and allowing the car to run for 20-30 minutes. The initial download will help loosen the light varnish and begin taking the waste oil filter. After running for 20-30 minutes off the car and remove the oil filter and drain the oil.

2. ) Now install your new synthetic oil with high quality oil filter and you're done. Please note if you are using one of the best-selling brands of synthetic oil that will further clean the engine, even after washing. In older cars can see some light oil consumption, while the engine is still in the cleaning process. If you're using one of the extended drain synthetic oils, it is always a good idea to check the oil level at least once a month or every 500 to 600 miles.

If you are using one of the best brands of synthetic products should start to see fuel to flow. How would you like to see mileage gains of 3.8%? Would not it be nice to the way gas prices going up all the time. In addition, non-synthetic only provide better protection for your engine, but in most cases it can afford to go much longer between oil changes. There are some oils that are always 25,000 miles or one year whichever comes first.

Remember that you can not get cheap and high quality in the product itself. Some people may bulk at a starting price of synthetics, but remember it is the price that matters is the cost and there is a big difference. The price of a product that says nothing of its value, yet the bill does. If the synthetic oil you are considering buying a $ 9.00/quart, but you can go 25,000 miles and how much oil is that it actually costs? In most cases you could pay up to $ 60.00-$ 65.00 for a simple oil change, but again will be the oil change is only paid during the year. Most lubricants fast charge more than $ 30.00-$ 35.00 change.00 oil for an oil change and then turn around and say that back in 3000 miles. This is compared to spending over $ 125.00 in 3 or 4 visits to your local quick lube friendly. Now you see the difference between price and cost? Do not worry about the higher initial cost of synthetic oil, in the long run it is putting money in the bank.

Steve Tarini has been recognized as a leading authority on the basic principles of synthetic lubricants, and in particular of Amsoil synthetic lubricants. Located in Columbus, Ohio and an AMSOIL Dealer since 1996, Steve shows you the correct way to switch to AMSOIL with great success and start enjoying the benefits of changing the oil every 25,000 km.
